Please note, if you have been prescribed a formula containing tretinoin, it can be common to temporarily experience breakouts during treatment. This is typically known as the “purge period” and can last anywhere from 2-6 weeks. It is important to remember that breakouts triggered while using tretinoin would have developed on their own regardless, and that tretinoin is simply speeding up the process by increasing your skin cell turnover rate. Breakouts can be managed by easing slowly into the treatment, avoiding direct sunlight, and staying consistent with use.
