Expectations:
- Visible results can take up to 4-6 months. Patients should start seeing less hair shedding in 3-6 months and possible hair regrowth in 6-12 months.
- Side effects may include irritation and dryness of the scalp. If your Hair Pill contains minoxidil, you may experience unwanted hair growth. For information about how to manage side effects, please use eNurse Check-Ups on the Musely app.
Do’s:
- Use a mild shampoo, we recommend Nizoral or Head & Shoulders as dandruff (seborrheic dermatitis) can contribute to hair loss.
- It is recommended to take the Hair Pill at night.
- Stop use of The Hair Pill 48 hours before any bloodwork.
Don’ts:
- Do not take the Hair Pill if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or nursing.
- Do not take the Hair Pill if you have a history of intermittent chest pain, heart attack, heart failure, kidney or liver disease, pulmonary hypertension, porphyria, connective tissue disease (e.g. rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, scleroderma, Marfan Syndrome) or pheochromocytoma.
- Immediately stop taking The Hair Pill and message your doctor if you experience symptoms such as swelling, vision changes, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, dizziness, enlarged breasts, breast pain, nipple discharge, mood change, sexual dysfunction, chest pain or heart palpitations.
- Do not combine The Hair Pill with other oral prescription medications for hair loss
- Avoid potassium supplements and potassium rich foods if your Hair Pill formulation contains spironolactone.
- Avoid blow drying your hair with high heat, chemical relaxants, hair braiding, extensions, and wearing your hair tightly pulled back to reduce breakage in hair and damage to the hair follicle.
How to UseThis medication is to be taken orally, once a day, or as directed by your doctor. Drink a full glass of water with each dose. |
