The Estrogen Patch includes adhesive. If this adhesive is not sticking, here are a few suggestions that can help!
Before application:
- Ensure the skin is clean and completely dry.
- Do not apply any lotions, oils, powders, moisturizers, or other products to the application site after the shower.
- Apply The Estrogen Patch to a flat, hair-free area.
During application:
- Open The Estrogen Patch and peel off one side of the backing.
- Apply the sticky side to your skin.
- Peel the other half of the backing and press The Estrogen Patch firmly with your palm for around 10-30 seconds.
- (Optional) Warm The Estrogen Patch with a blow dryer, using a low/warm setting for around 10 seconds.
- If this step is done, press firmly for another 10 seconds.
For extra hold:
- Extra adhesive can be added to help The Estrogen Patch remain in place as long as the sticky side is fully against your body.
- Some suggestions include medical adhesive spray on the sticky side or an adhesive film (bandaids, medical tape, Tegaderm) on top.
- Wear loose clothing to avoid friction over The Estrogen Patch.
If The Estrogen Patch falls off, a new one can be applied, but your original schedule should be followed. Do not double up doses.
